This is an Online introductory workshop for Japanese calligraphy.

We are opening this for EJCA members with limited or no experience with Japanese calligraphy. The instruction will be in English. No need to have Japanese language or cultural knowledge to participate.

At the 5^th  session (the last day ), you will complete one calligraphy art for display. A display frame called Kakejiku is included in the fee.

Participants:     EJCA members over 16 years old only

Priority will be given to participants with NO experience with Japanese calligraphy

Location:           Online (Zoom)

Date and time: Tuesdays, February 23 – March 23, 2021    7:00  - 8:00 pm (5 sessions) 

                               Or,

Saturdays, February 27 – March 27, 2021 10:00 - 11:00 am  (5 sessions)   

Fee:       $75 - students will receive Kakejiku, one bottle of ink and special paper.

Rental of a calligraphy equipment set: $30 including $10 rental fee and $20 deposit. $20 will be reimbursed when an equipment set is returned.

 Rental equipment set (lightly used) will include: two brushes, brush rest, Ink tray, weight and a felt mat
