Financial giving is a practical and tangible way for you and your family to show your support for EJCA programs and the operations of our cultural centre. 

Whether it's a one-time gift, an annual repeating pledge or remembering EJCA in your will, your donation demonstrates your commitment to the mission of the Association.  Donations can be earmarked for use according to your direction or added to general revenue.  All financial matters are administered by the Board or an awards committee under the Board’s authority, and reported at the Annual General Meeting.  Privacy through anonymity can be maintained.

Among other things, financial donations are used for:

1.  General operation of the Centre

The operation of the Cultural Centre is funded by membership fees, rental income, fundraisings and the casino.  Donations to EJCA can be used as needed for extra upgrades to equipment, office supplies, library purchases, and so on.

2.  Garden Maintenance

Money is needed for maintenance of the Wa no Niwa Japanese Garden which greets our members and guests as they enter the Culture Centre.  Donations could be used for buying replacements for overgrown shrubs, purchase of tools, buying bark mulch and ornamental stone, replacement of aging timbers, replacing the shingles on the fence.

3.  Support for the Japan Today Program

The Consulate of Japan has stopped funding this school program, and the shortfall cannot be compensated fully by raising fees to the participating schools.  Donations to this program ensures that the program can continue to provide curriculum support to Edmonton schools.

4. Other areas, if you want your donation to be used towards specific activities.

One-time donations may be made online (on this page), by cheque or cash in a sealed envelope addressed to the treasurer at the Centre.  A receipt will be issued, and a thank you letter will be sent, if desired.

Please note that we will unfortunately not be able to provide you with a formal tax receipt, as we are not a registered charity. 

エドモントン日本文化協会では、会の文化活動や運営への援助の一環として寄付をお願いしています。

一度だけの贈与、毎年の定期的な寄付、遺言の中にエドモントン日本文化協会も入れていただくなどがあります。寄付によって会の目的達成への協力の気持ちをあらわしていただけます。寄付金は”何々のために”という形でも、”一般会計”として”という形でも、歓迎いたします。役員会や役員会傘下のコミティ―が責任をもって運用し、年次総会で会計報告をいたします。勿論匿名希望などの個人情報は尊重いたします。

寄付金は次のような活動に使います。

１．協会の一般運営のため

協会の活動費は、主に会員の会費、会館の使用料収入、バザーやヘリテージ祭り及びカジノなどの収益が財源です。寄付をいただくと、機器の補充、事務室の費用、図書の購入などのサービスの向上に使います。

２．「和の庭」の手入れ

会館へ来る方をまず迎えるのが会館前の日本庭園です。この庭をいつまでも美しく保つために、木や植物の植え替え、手入れの道具、肥料、庭石、門の修理のための寄付金は貴重です。

Japan Todayは2003年から続けているアルバータ州の中学2年生を対象にして、日本についての理解を深める目的で行っているプログラムです。日本政府から補助をいただいていたので、参加費を安く提供していました。この補助がなくなった現在、Japan Todayへ寄付をいただくことにより、中学校が参加しやすい費用でプログラムを提供できます。

ご寄付は、下記の書式にそってオンラインで可能です。又は小切手・現金を封書に入れて会計宛に会館へお届けください。必要な方へは領収書を発行いたします。ご寄付いただいた方にはお礼のお手紙をお送りいたします。

なお、エドモントン日本文化協会は連邦政府に登録された慈善団体（Registered Charitable Organization）ではありませんので、Tax用の書類は発行できません。
