EJCA provides the following culture services:

Instructors for Japanese Culture Demonstrations/Presentations

The EJCA will provide Japanese culture related demonstrations and presentations. Examples include origami, tea ceremony, calligraphy, martial arts, Ikebana, Japanese dance, kimono and much more. Service charges will be applied.

Private Japanese Language Lessons

If you want a tutor be introduced to you, please fill in a form  and e-mail it to culture@ejca.org. EJCA will respond back to you within 7 days.

Interpretation and Translation Services

The EJCA will provide the names of interpreters and translators for both Japanese and English. Service charges will be applied.

The Kimiko Shimizu Arts and Cultural Development Grant

The grant in the amount of $500 is awarded annually to support activities or projects with a strong cultural/craft component appropriate to the Japanese Canadian community as reflected in the Vision Statement of the EJCA:
The Edmonton Japanese Community Association (EJCA) is a community of members whose vision is to create a shared experience of Japanese and Canadian culture.
For example, applicants might study with a tea master, attend a taiko workshop, publish poetry, practice sumi-e, attend a haiku celebration, collect historical artifacts, carry out a specific project (studying in Japan, developing special media), attend a karate dojo, present at a conference on Canada/Japan relations, prepare a manuscript and so on.

日本文化のデモンストレーションやプレゼンテーションをする講師を紹介します。

折り紙、茶道、書道、武道、生け花、日本舞踊、着物などの日本文化に関係するワークショップや、プレゼンテーションのお手伝いをし、講師を紹介します。手数料、講師の謝礼、材料費などの料金がかかります。

日本語の個人レッスン

日本語の個人レッスンのチューターを紹介します。謝礼や指導の内容は依頼者とチューターの間で決めていただきます。EJCAはご紹介するだけです。
チューターをご希望の方は form に記入のうえ、こちらへお送りください。culture@ejca.org.　7日以内にご連絡します。紹介料は無料です。

通訳・翻訳のサービス

日本語と英語の通訳や翻訳ができる人を紹介します。紹介料をいただきます。

清水きみ子日本文化奨励金

エドモントン日本文化協会の基本理念であるカナダ人に日本文化を知って頂くための振興活動の一環として、日本文化に関係ある学芸、美術、芸術などの活動者へ、協会は毎年500ドルの奨励金を提供しています。
基本理念：エドモントン日本文化協会は日本文化とカナダ文化を皆で一緒に理解し振興しようという人たちの集まり。

次のような項目に準じた活動のために応募できます。茶道の指導を受けるときの費用、太鼓のワークショップに参加する費用、詩集の出版費、墨絵の材料費、歴史的価値のあるもの収集、日本での勉学、空手道場への参加費、関係ある学会への参加費
